Oslo Mela Festival 2010

Today I stopped by the Mela Festival that's going on in downtown Oslo this weekend, to get some shots of people enjoying south Asian food, music etc.

Who's Kine?

Kine is a 25-year-old Thai-Norwegian who has a passion for self-inflicted pain. That's why she has spent too much time and effort studying languages like Thai, Japanese and Chinese. Kine kicked herself out of the nest when she was 16 and has lived on her own in Norway, Thailand, Japan and China. In 2011 she spent a semester studying at Beijing University, and a short time after wrapped up her second good-for-nothing bachelor's degree at the University of Oslo, majoring in Chinese language. Bangkok is the city of her heart, and this blog's title is the sentence most frequently uttered from her mouth (first in horror, soon with certain acceptance, later in boredom) when she lived in the Big Mango. She's bringing home the bacon by doing her job that she loves; caring for adults with various intellectual disabilities, such as autism and Down's syndrome. She's been doing similar work since the age of 15. Currently she's finally learning a real trade: social work - and will be a certified social worker by the middle of 2015. She also did ITF TaeKwon-Do for ten years.
